 Ancient and modern cuneiform systems

Main concept

Persians used a stylus to draw wedge-shaped signs on clay tablets. Modern CD-R/RW-drives use laser to draw small pits on a laser-disc surface. The only difference is in size, laser-disc pits a very-very tiny (CD — 0.4µm, DVD — 0.83µm).

Product logo

The potter's wheel with a clay disk on it. This means that Oront Burning kit creates tablets for cuneiform writings. Like in real CD-drive, clay disk is rotated. After the compliting the disk, the virtual penman draws pits and then "put tablets in a kinl — the information is "burned". As you can see: one logo can describe whole CD-writing process.
